Giving, made simple.
Donara is a modern WordPress donation platform for nonprofits and community organizations. We’re building it carefully, in the open, with our beta testers.
Why Donara exists
Fundraising tools are often expensive, complicated, or take a cut of every donation. Donara is a deliberately simpler alternative: a clean giving experience, your own branding, your own data — and no platform fee on donations. Payment processors like Stripe still charge their standard fees, and those go to the processor; Donara adds nothing on top of a gift.
What we believe
- Transparent pricing. We earn from software licenses and support, not from a percentage of charity. Fee recovery, when a donor opts in, is the exact processor cost with $0 Donara margin.
- Organizations own their data. Donor and donation records live in your WordPress database, and Donara preserves them by default when you uninstall.
- Simple and trustworthy. Card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by Donara; a donation is only marked complete when Stripe’s signed webhook confirms it.
- Honest software. No dark patterns, no hidden charges, no fake urgency.
Where we are
Donara is in closed beta (release candidate 1.0.0-rc.1). It’s feature-complete for its first release and has passed certification in Stripe test mode, but it hasn’t yet been through broad multi-host production hardening. If that sounds like something you’d like to help shape, we’d love to have you in the beta.
